The Resource Triangle is the geometric object at the heart of reality. Every persistent structure in the universe — every atom, every galaxy, every organism — is an instance of this triangle being solved.
$W^n = \Omega^n + N^n$
Three sides:
- **$\Omega$** ([[Workload]]): the effort spent maintaining the actual structure.
- **$N$** ([[Noise Floor]]): the effort spent fighting the environment.
- **$W$** ([[Total Budget]]): the total resource envelope.
One projection:
- **$I$** ([[Signal]]): the source that generated this allocation. $I = \Omega^2/W$.
This is a generalized Pythagorean relation. When $n = 2$, it is literally the Pythagorean theorem. The [[Signal]] $I = \Omega^2/W$ is the **projection of the signal leg $\Omega$ onto the hypotenuse $W$** (equivalently, the length of the segment of $W$ adjacent to $\Omega$ in the right-triangle picture). All of physics is triangulation.

## RST Formalization
**Identity:**
$W^n = \Omega^n + N^n$
**Axiomatic derivation:** The identity $W^n = \Omega^n + N^n$ follows from RRT axioms: Translation steps are additive ($\varphi_s + \varphi_n = 1$), the Format's response is scale-free (power-law), and the Landauer floor enforces $n \geq 1$. See [[Fidelity Derivation]].

$\mu = \frac{\Omega}{W} = \frac{\eta}{(1+\eta^n)^{1/n}}$
where $\eta = \Omega/N$. This is not an analogy. One is the accounting ledger (how the budget is split). The other is the audit (what source produced this split).
