This is my personal approach to electronic music production.
I produce in Ableton Live.
## the basics
### getting started
If you've never touched a DAW (digital audio workstation) before, I recommend working through this over eight hour long guide.
In the case you're unsure about starting music production, get the Ableton Live trial and test it out.

### getting faster
In order to unlock the flow feeling in music production, it is important to nail the basics. Speed will enable you to produce intuitively.
My preferred method is the [[1 hour challenge]]
Do as many of them as you can.
## getting out of the loop
this tutorial helps you get out of the loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BbO_BmyBG4
I find that the learnings apply to many genres.
## finishing tracks
- find a community that you can join to give and receive feedback
- giving feedback is the fastest way to train your own ear
## releasing tracks
- self release
- soundcloud is my main platform
- release on sc - use the artist pro recommendation algorithm
- distribute via the soundcloud pro distribution service
- bandcamp for .wav file distribution
- I will gladly share the files for free if asked
